Infant and toddler daycare in Burnaby: common questions

How many daycares in Burnaby take infants?

We list 104 programs in Burnaby that take children under 3, including infant and toddler group centres, multi-age programs and licensed home daycares.

When should I get on infant daycare waitlists?

As early as you can. Many Metro Vancouver families join waitlists during pregnancy, because infant spaces turn over slowly and most programs offer them in waitlist order.

How much does infant daycare cost in BC?

Programs set their own fees. Programs in the provincial fee reduction lower monthly fees for each child, and $10 a Day sites charge at most $10 a day for full-time care. Income-tested Affordable Child Care Benefit can lower costs further.

Is a home daycare a good option for a baby?

Many families prefer one. Licensed family and in-home multi-age daycares care for small, mixed-age groups, and they often have infant spaces when centres don't.
